Rainy, cool May day. A couple of kids who were "experienced Hikers" took a header
off this trail and needed a helicopter rescue. So naturally, we needed to check this
place out!

Eastbound on I-84 Take Bridal veil exit # 28. The trailhead is south of the Historic
Columbia River Highway, opposite the junction with the interstate access road in Bridal
veil. Westbound I-84 Take Ainsworth State Park exit # 35 and follow the Historic Columbia
River Highway for 7.1 miles. This trail does not require a parking pass permit.

Arrived at the trailhead early and every Obama loving Multnomah County Hippie Dippie
pot smoking whack job was already on the trail. This hike must be Oregon's answer to Dog
Mountain. Apparently these college educated "Liberals" can't read or think that
the "leashes required" signs don't apply to them. Here's a tip: no one thinks your
stupid dog is cute, friendly or anything other than obnoxious. Obey the law or stay
home.

Coopey Falls and the bridge over it.... whoo weee
Julie's wearing her snappy new, very cute hiking boots.
Here's a picture of them before we went slogging through all that mud.

A pretty easy 2.3 mile hike to Angels Rest

For the most part, the trail is wide, well worn and well marked. There are a
couple of confusing forks including this last one. The correct trail to Devils
Rest is to the right, up the very steep trail. Left will take you to the
Wahkeena Trail. Devils Rest is about 1/2 mile up the hill from this fork

Devils Rest was a disappointment to say the least. I guess it's worth going to
once but I don't see this becoming one of our "must return" hike destinations.

Still a lot of low clouds and drizzle on the way back down.

Back at Coopey Falls...

Almost back to the trailhead.
