The 2011 Spring opener ride to Glenwood is posted

Washington State Highway 14 east to White Salmon. Left (North) on 141 to BZ Corner
Right onto the BZ-Glenwood Hwy to Glenwood. Turn right at Glenwood and follow the
highway along the Klickitat River (great views!) to the junction of hwy 142. Right
(west) on 142 to Lyle (more great views!). State Highway 14 west back to Portland.
Today was the first 70 degree day in six months so instead of doing our planned
Table Mountain hike we decided to enjoy the sun and do the Glenwood opener.
The obligatory stop at Hamilton Landing at the base of Beacon Rock.
A mighty frosty Mount Adams.
And an equally frosty Mount Hood.
We recommend the Mountain Inn restaurant club sandwich with fries. Well worth the ride.
There's a nice view of the Klickitat River along the Glenwood Highway.
Nice view of Rowena Crest at the Chamberlain rest stop just West of Lyle.
