Details on getting to the trailhead can be found
HERE.
Basically, it's Exit 35 off of I-84. Travel East two miles on the frontage road
(South side of I-84) to the John B. Yeon State Park trailhead.
If you can see the trailhead from I-84 Eastbound, you missed the exit.
I-84 Westbound, take exit 37 and follow the signs for Yeon State park.
The views aren't so wonderful at Nesmith Point, but there are a few nice views
on the way up. Probably not much visual reward compared to the effort involved in
getting here, but still..... a nice cardio workout and absolutely no people..
It's not like you did all this work and there's NO view....
Plus, there were no people. None. Zero! And we hate people....
Lots of fog and low clouds when I hit the trailhead at 07:00. At 1,000' of
elevation gain each mile, it didn't take long to get above it.
Color is just about at peak.
You really have to look for what's left of the Nesmith Point sign.
There's a couple of inches of snow up here but not enough to make staying on trail difficult.
This structure at Nesmith Point was some sort of a kiosk.. it's seen better days.
Coming down there were some pretty good views of Beacon Rock (left), Hamilton
Mountain (center) and Table Mountain (right).
